Q: WHat time does school begin?

Our day begins at 8:10 am for all classes. Parents may drop off as early as 7:45 am. Students will report to their classrooms upon arrival. Staff members are on duty outside of the school from 7:45 am – 8:10 am to help facilitate drop off of students. 


Q: WHat time does the school day end?

Dismissal begins at 3:00 pm. Guardians should not arrive for car pickup until after 2:50 pm. Students for car pickup will be called one by one as the parent or authorized person arrives.  Teachers will be present on Cranberry Street to help students into the car. Any changes in dismissal should be sent in writing to the school office. Verbal changes in dismissal by students are not accepted.


Q: what time are students fed lunch?

Lunch for preschool-Second Grade starts at 11:00 am, Third Grade through Fifth Grade lunch begins at 11:30 am, and Sixth through Eighth grade lunch is from 12:00 pm – 12:30 pm.  

 

Q: are students required to wear a uniform?

St. Stephen’s does not require a uniform, but guidelines for acceptable dress are outlined in the parent/student handbook which can be found online.

Q: what classes are offered beyond core subjects?

All classes participate in Chapel once a week and specials depending upon their grade level which may include Spanish, Religion, Art, STEM, Financial Literacy, Social Emotional Learning (SEL), and Gym.


Q: What are some social opportunities provided for students at the school?

Extra activities funded by the Home and School Association have included movie nights, fundraisers and the book fair.  Students in Kindergarten through 8th grade also participate in educational and team building trips each year.  Other activities include all-school programs such as our annual Advent Program, Spring Program and other events.

Q: Do enrolled students/families need to attend St. Stephen's Episcopal cathedral?

No.  While St. Stephen's Episcopal Cathedral welcomes everyone, school families are not obligated to attend or become members.


Q: Do you have a school Meal program?

No. While we do have snacks, students must bring a packed lunch.


Q: How do your students get to your school?

Bus transportation is available to students beginning in Kindergarten whose home school districts are within 10 miles of St. Stephen’s and also provides busing to its own students.  We have families who walk, take public transportation, drive, and even bike to school!


Q: Do you have a after school program?

Yes.  The school offers after-school care beginning at 3:00 pm - 5:30 pm for an additional fee. 


Q: What is your average class size?

12-18 students.
