Early Childhood

  • Early Childhood Vision: We believe that every child is entitled to enjoy his/her childhood. St. Stephen’s Episcopal School is committed to presenting learning experiences that include well planned, sequential, developmentally appropriate lessons that give students the academic readiness skills necessary for first grade and the confidence to believe they can achieve. Students learn cooperation and effective group behavior. By providing a variety of unique experiences, teachers guide students at their own pace toward exploration and discovery.

Elementary

  • Elementary Vision: We acknowledge and celebrate the differences that each student brings to the classroom and we strive to meet individual needs. We offer an academically challenging program that is modified, as needed, to accommodate learning differences. We present a wide range of educational experiences so each student can discover and excel in his/her own way. Our curriculum is Pennsylvania Standards based, logical, sequential, and flexible. We create an atmosphere where all students do homework that supports the instruction and demonstrates understanding of concepts taught. We focus on building selfconfidence and an understanding that with effort, the possibilities are endless.

Middle School

  • Middle School Vision: We recognize the differences that separate adolescents from the younger students and offer experiences that provide for their needs. Curriculum continues to be Pennsylvania Standards based, academically oriented, and modified for individual needs; however, learning now includes group projects and cooperative learning. Daily homework assignments support concepts taught. We create an atmosphere that promotes a desire to grown intellectually, emotionally, and socially. We provide opportunities for students to assume leadership roles. We build an environment where self-control and self-discipline lead to responsible citizenship.

Accreditation St. Stephen's Episcopal School is accredited by the Middle States Commission on Elementary Schools. Our school is a member of the National Association of Episcopal Schools.
