Ruth Graffius

Kindergarten Teacher

I believe each child is unique and needs a secure, caring, and encouraging atmosphere to grow academically, socially, and emotionally. It is my desire to help each student meet his or her full potential. Teaching young minds is full of excitement, wonder, and joy!

Five words to describe my classroom

safe, encouraging, respectful, caring, and joyful

After a year in my classroom students will know

learning is an ongoing process. Sometimes it is easy, but sometimes it can be hard. Never give up. Persistence is important.

What message would you give to parents of students in your classroom?

Your child is learning in a safe and caring environment. Read with your child and cherish the time you have with them.

Outside of the classroom

I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, especially my new granddaughter!  You may see me running along the river or walking our dog.  I also like to find treasures at antique stores, flower arranging and cheering on my alma mater, Penn State!
