My mission as a teacher is threefold: to help students feel welcome and accepted in the classroom, to develop their academic and social-emotional needs, and to foster a life-long love of learning.
Students learn best in a safe, caring environment. By creating an inviting classroom, treating students with respect, and establishing clear routines, students in my classroom feel comfortable exploring new ideas, learning from mistakes, and putting forth effort to meet challenges.
I believe that all children are unique individuals and should be instructed in a way that addresses their specific learning styles and interests. By differentiating instruction and activities, I am able to help students achieve their fullest potential.
Young children have a natural instinct to discover, explore, and learn. Creating fun, hands-on, play-based lessons and activities help students to enjoy learning about the world around them. When children believe learning is enjoyable, they will not only excel but also develop a love of learning

After a Year in My classroom, Students Will Know
First and foremost, my students will know that I care about them and want the best for them. They will also understand that learning is fun and that with effort they can achieve their goals.
What message would you give to parents of students in your classroom?
Parents are a child’s first and most important teacher.
Teach your child to be creative by encouraging imaginative play. Develop language skills by talking and reading to your child every day. Help your child begin to develop independence (putting on and zipping a coat, tying a shoe, wiping up a spill).
You can prepare your child for future success by helping to develop a growth mindset. Gently encourage your child to learn from his or her mistakes. Teach your child to accept a challenge and to put forth the effort to meet that challenge.
Most of all, enjoy this precious time with your child. Smile. Laugh. Play. Love.
Outside of the Classroom
I enjoy reading and baking.
